Thank You & Happy Holidays from Sosido!

It’s my opportunity to thank each of you for working with me on Sosido in 2011. I could not ask for a better partner than CBMTG in this project — thank you for your feedback, for your enthusiasm, and mostly for your hard work in contributing the research, resources and knowledge that improve the care for patients in need of transplant. It turns out that the Sosido-CBMTG project is unique and getting attention from all over the world — which is, to say the least, exciting. I’m grateful to CBMTG, and to CBMTG’s sponsor Roche Canada, for recognizing the potential of the project and leading the way in 2011.

You’ll see a lot of new features and improvements coming up for the network in 2012. Here’s a sneak peak:

  • CBMTG will be joined by more associations on the network in 2012 (details to follow shortly), which means that you’ll continue to connect with your CBMTG colleagues, but when you like you’ll also be able to reach out to members from other hematology-oncology associations across Canada.
  • We’re working with the CBMTG 2012 conference chairs to plan online activities around CBMTG’s upcoming conference in Toronto (April 2012), e.g., a series of online discussions leading up to the hot topics at the conference, launch of a CBMTG conference blog so you can hear directly from the chairs, and recognition awards to thank those members that have contributed online resources and knowledge to the CBMTG community.

But more on all that in the New Year.

For now, from my family to yours, I wish you happy holidays and time to do what you like best. For my part — my fingers are crossed that Santa brings that EZ-Bake Oven my daughter has asked for, as I’ve been wanting to play with one for about 37 years now. Perhaps I’ll bring mini pink sparkle cupcakes when I see you next.

Happy holidays and warmest regards,

Tanis Steward
